South Pasadena Public Library | Two Programs Offered for Kids and Teens Alike

They will be holding both year-round reading challenges and storytime readings virtually

Starting on Monday, August 30, the South Pasadena Public Library will offer three open-ended, year-round reading challenges for children and teens. Participants can sign-up at any time. There’s no specific end date and participants can read at their own pace.

Once registered, participants may choose three different challenges based on their age. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is for children from birth to 5 years old. Reading Explorers are for children ages 6 to 12. 100 Books Before College is for teens age 13 to 18. Interested participants can register using the Beanstack app for iPhone or Android or through the library’s website.

Fall Virtual Storytimes at South Pasadena Public Library

The South Pasadena Public Library Virtual Storytimes resume for fall on Monday, September 14 and continue through November 9. Our Children’s Services Librarians will read stories, share fingerplays, songs, and flannel-board stories. The Virtual Storytimes will be made available at 10:30 a.m. on the Children’s page on the library’s website and on the library’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

The South Pasadena Public Library building is currently closed to the public for the health and safety of our community. Library Takeout, a no-contact check-out/pick-up service, is now available. Library Takeout is open on Monday – Thursday 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m; Friday – Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Sunday – Closed.
