The South Pasadena Public Library will host two free, family-friendly events in late June designed to inspire curiosity and creativity in young minds. These programs, part of the Library’s ongoing youth and summer engagement efforts, promise interactive learning, music, movement, and science fun for children and families alike.
My Gym Pasadena to Lead Playtime Event on June 27

Children ages 1 to 10 are invited to join My Gym Pasadena for a dynamic morning of movement and imagination on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Library Community Room (1115 El Centro Street, South Pasadena).
This free program includes singing, dancing, and a group reading of A Magical My Gym Day. The event is designed to boost children’s confidence, encourage socialization, and ignite their imaginations. Each child must be accompanied by an adult.
Mad Science LA Returns to Wonderful Wednesdays on June 25

The Wonderful Wednesdays series continues with a thrilling live presentation from Mad Science LA on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. outdoors on the Oxley Street side of Library Park.
Titled “Fire and Ice,” the interactive show features dazzling science experiments with fire, bubbling potions, and air pressure demonstrations. Young attendees will learn the scientific method through live hypothesis testing and meet “Eggbert,” a giant animated egg. Highlights include fire that appears and disappears, ice that won’t melt, and fog effects straight out of a movie set.
