As the summer evenings stretch longer, local families have a new reason to gather under the old trees of our civic center. The library’s beloved outdoor series returns to foster community connection and childlike wonder for residents of all ages.
The laughter of children and the gentle hum of neighborhood conversations are about to become the soundtrack of our midweek evenings. For many South Pasadena parents, the search for engaging, community-centered summer activities ends right at the edge of the civic center.
This Wednesday, June 10, the South Pasadena Public Library will host its first “Wonderful Wednesday” event of the season at 6:00 p.m.
A Whimsical World on Oxley Street
The Oxley Street side of Library Park will transform into an open-air theater for the evening. Taking center stage is Captain Tall Tale, a renowned adventurer known for captivating audiences across generations.
Families are encouraged to lay down their picnic blankets and settle in for a highly interactive performance.
The library staff has designed this series specifically to keep young minds active and engaged outside the classroom walls.
Circus Tricks and Community Laughs
The evening promises to be much more than a standard book reading. Captain Tall Tale blends traditional storytelling with dynamic physical comedy.
Attendees can look forward to a lively mix of circus tricks, interactive sing-along sessions, and hilarious jokes.
It is a testament to the dedication of our local librarians, who continually find innovative ways to bring stories to life and draw the community together.
