City officials last week joined the “du cOeuR Project” to distribute sleeping mats to the homeless which are cleaned and repurposed after use as surgical instrument wraps. The non-profit was founded by a former Sheriff’s deputy working in the medical field. To date the group has distributed 1,600 surgical mats to the homeless.
