Friday, November 8, 10:30 a.m. – Dietary needs change as on ages learn about choices and options to better meet your needs. Presented by Maxine Vo, Transitions Hospice.
Friday, November 8, 11:45 a.m. – A special program is planned to honor those who served this country along with entertainment and a luncheon. Sponsored by Gently Guided. Reservations needed.
Friday, November 8, 1 p.m. – Friday Cinema featuring “Crooked House” a 2017 film, Drama/Mystery film, lasting 1 hours and 56 minutes. All seniors are welcome.
Monday, November 11 – Senior Center is closed in observance of Veteran’s Day.
Wednesday, November 13, 8:30 am -10:30 a.m. – Glucose and Blood Pressure screening provided by Huntington Hospital. Walk-ins welcome, fasting required for1.5 hours prior to glucose test.
Wednesday, November 13, 10:30 a.m. – Chair Yoga offered by Huntington Hospital nurse Kathy Eastwood. Class is limited to 20 reservations in advance.
Wednesday, November 13, 1 p.m. – Elder Wisdom Group is an open discussion group that is deeply committed to personal growth, positivity and the enormous potential of daily choices. Walk-ins welcome. Group led by volunteer Oliver Beaudette.
Thursday, November 14, 8:30 a.m. – Walking Group – meets in lobby of Senior Center.
Friday, November 15, 10 am – 11:30 a.m. – Smarter Senior Forum – hosted by LA County Consumer Business Affairs and Supervisor Kathryn Barger. Presentations on: How to make safe and informed decisions about insurance products; Home equity conversion mortgages (reverse mortgages); The Property Assessed Clean Energy Program (PACE); and Recognizing elder abuse.
Friday, Novembers 15, 10:30 a.m. – Recognizing Symptoms of Depression – presented by Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, sign up needed.
Lunch is served Monday through Friday by reservation. Cost per person $2.75 for onsite and reservations are necessary. Home delivered meals are offered to those that are frail or recovering from illness, cost per meal $3, contact the office for any application.
