A very special screening of the film La La Land will be presented at the South Pasadena Library on Thursday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m. The program will feature a discussion with Oscar-winning set designers, David Wasco and Sandy Reynolds-Wasco who won the 2016 Oscar for their work on La La Land. The husband and wife duo are prolific and respected production and art directors known for their frequent collaborations with Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino. Speaking to set décor, Sandy has said, “even what never appears in the frame can influence the actor’s performance, so it all counts. It all has to be truthful, or at least truth-y.”
The conversation will be conducted by Escott Norton, Executive Diretor of the Friends of the Rialto Theatre. The evening is presented by South Pasadena Public Library and Friends of the Rialto Theatre, with special thanks to the 210 Eastsound and Movie Licensing USA. Doors open at 6:30p.m. and refreshments will be served. Don’t miss this fascinating discussion and screening of this terrific film!
