On Wednesday July 19th at 3:00 p.m., the Science on the Go Animal Show will lead a journey through the animal kingdom with live animals! Children will learn how animals adapt to their environments in this interactive, exciting and educational experience that is appropriate for all ages. Sponsored by the South Pasadena Public Library, the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, and the San Marino Area Chapter – National Charity League, this opportunity is one of the South Pasadena Public Library’s “Wonderful Wednesdays” programs in the series offered through August 2nd.
In addition to the “Wonderful Wednesdays” series, the Library Children’s Services provides many other Summer Reading Program activities for youth, such as incentives for the time participants spend reading, attending storytimes, craft days, and “Family Game Days,” a series for tweens on creative writing, and “Lego® Mania.”. The Summer Reading Program is an eight-week, parent-supervised reading program for infants and children through 5th grade. The Teen Reading Program is for 6th – 12th grade students. These programs are designed to encourage youths to read for fun. The theme of the 2017 Summer Reading Program is “Reading by Design.”
