The highly awaited return of the Tchaikovsky Spectacular with Fireworks features the composer’s much-loved Romeo and Juliet and his tribute to Mozart with his delightful Rococo Variations, featuring talented cellist Sterling Elliott. The charming and witty Bramwell Tovey is on the podium and presides over the evening with the LA Phil, which concludes with the 1812 Overture, accompanied, as always, by the Bowl’s famous pyrotechnics. Friday August 6, 2021 at 8pm and Saturday August 7 at 8pm.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic with Gemma New conducting and Isata Kanneh-Mason on piano will perform a Schumann & Schumann program Thursday August 5, 2021 at 8pm. Clara Schumann finished her remarkable Piano Concerto at age 16, premiering it with Felix Mendelssohn as conductor. Our soloist Isata Kanneh-Mason championed the piece on her first recording that was devoted entirely to the composer’s piano music. Alongside Clara’s concerto is her husband Robert’s towering Third Symphony, led by New Zealand’s Gemma New, a former Dudamel Conducting Fellow.
