Arroyo Vista Elementary School students zipped around a makeshift track on campus Friday morning as a way to generate school funds.
Around they went, many laughing and smiling, as the school held its annual Golden Shoe Jog-a-Thon in support of the local PTA.

Kids received a pledge per lap or flat rate from parents, relatives and friends for taking part in the event.
Loud music blared through giant speakers as some youngsters sprinted and others walked, joining teachers in the spirited event.

Volunteers joined parents on the sideline cheering on the dedicated runners.
Following the Jog-a-Thon, students cooled down and were treated to Popsicles in the school’s courtyard.
