Happy National Marching Band Day! Celebrated on March 4, it’s a perfect time to “march forth” and recognize the talent, dedication and spirit of marching bands.
The Pasadena Tournament of Roses® Association is thrilled to announce the 21 exceptional bands that will showcase their talents in the upcoming 138th Rose Parade® presented by Honda on January 1, 2027.
Bands from across the nation and around the world—including Costa Rica, Japan and Mexico—will travel to Pasadena to take part in the iconic Rose Parade, creating lifelong memories as they march down Orange Grove and Colorado boulevards. The 2027 Rose Parade will feature a mix of beloved returning bands and exciting new groups ready to make their mark in Parade history.
As part of a longstanding tradition, the Tournament of Roses President visits each Rose Parade marching band in the months leading up to New Year’s Day. The band visits offer students, band directors and communities a moment of celebration as preparations and fundraising get underway.
During each visit, the President officially welcomes the band into the Tournament of Roses family and recognizes the and excellence required to earn a place in the world-famous Rose Parade. With band visits by Tournament of Roses President Terry Madigan already underway, bands have begun their fundraising efforts to help cover travel costs and uniforms.
For details about the bands, we invite you to visit HERE.
Bands are selected by a committee of the Association’s volunteer members based on various criteria, including musicianship, marching ability and entertainment or special interest value.
Two bands will be added to the lineup when the universities participating in the 113th Rose Bowl Game® presented by Prudential are determined in December.
