The Granddaddy of them all is not so Grandaddy in Pasadena.

It was announced Saturday night that the 2021 Rose Bowl Game will be moving to Texas on New Year’s Day on account due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision was made by the playoff committee and the Tournament of Roses in a joint announcement.

The College football Semifinal will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, not the historic Rose Bowl.

“We know that the decision was not an easy one to make,” said Tournament of Roses Director David Eads. “While we remain confident that a game could have been played at the Rose Bowl Stadium, as evident in the other collegiate and professional games taking place in the region, the projection of COVID-19 cases in the region has continued on an upward trend.”
