On Saturday, October 17, 2026, supporters of Ronald McDonald House Pasadena will gather to raise critical funds to support children and families throughout their healthcare journey. SHINE Gala: Through the Garden Gate will take place at a private golf club in Pasadena. Community leaders, advocates, and passionate supporters will come together to ensure that families continue to receive the best outcomes for their children for years to come.
The evening will recognize this year’s community honorees: Geoff Johansing and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) care team at Huntington Health. Geoff Johansing, former Ronald McDonald House Pasadena Board Chair and longtime supporter of the House, inspires passion for our mission in every way. During his tenure on the Board of Trustees, Geoff helped guide the organization through critical moments of growth and impact. Known for his genuine connection with children and families, Geoff embodies the spirit of Ronald McDonald House through his steadfast commitment and fundraising leadership.
Huntington Hospital’s Level IIIB NICU provides advanced care for babies born prematurely or with medical conditions, the highest level of neonatal intensive care available in the San Gabriel Valley. Parents with children in Huntington’s NICU can rest and recharge at Ronald McDonald House, knowing they are just steps away from their baby.
Funds raised through SHINE Gala: Through the Garden Gate will support Ronald McDonald House Pasadena’s mission to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
“The comfort, safety, and community our House provides are essential for families navigating a child’s health crisis,” says Executive Director Mara Leong-Maguinez. “For over two decades, Ronald McDonald House Pasadena has ensured parents never have to face these moments alone.”
