———————————————————————————

It is a story of unspeakable sorrow and grief. As the family of Aramazd “Piqui” Andressian Jr. mourns his tragic loss, the community of South Pasadena is coming together to honor him and help the family through this difficult time. Piqui’s mother, Ana Estevez, her family and friends wish to thank the community for all of the kind offers of support, thoughts and prayers.

Anne Bagasao and Angelo Luchi of Partini are giving their time to coordinate arrangements for the family. As a local mother, Bagasao was devastated by the news and reached out to help and has been overwhelmed at the outpouring from the community. Generous offers from the community have come from people who have never even met Ana or Piqui, for everything from donating his favorite book to the local library, meal delivery for Ana and her family, personal services and offers to donate toward the two park memorials in his name. Says Bagasao, “South Pasadena is a small city but what we lack in size, we make up for in heart. Our community members are coming forward, without hesitation, to offer support. Our neighbors want to help and we are coming together to remember Piqui and support his loving Mom, Ana, who needs us more now than ever.” Local businesses have also come quickly to offer whatever services they can for the memorial and fundraising. So far the list includes the following with more calls coming every day.

The family wishes to thank:

Chef Bruce Kalman, Knead & Co., Bristol Farms South Pasadena, Gus’s BBQ, The Moo on Mission, Fiore Market Café, Vave Studios-Flowers & Events, Smudge Design Company, SouthPasadenan.com, Sugarmynt Gallery, Green Brooms Music Academy, Partini, Ronni Minnis Vocal Coach.

As the community grieves, people are looking for ways to help. The following are details on ways to help memorialize Piqui and assist his mother.

  2. Funeral Mass– In addition to the prayer vigil on July 19, the family is making preparations for a funeral service to take place here in South Pasadena. Details regarding the service are still pending at this time and will be shared at a later date.

In-Kind Donations – In preparation for both the prayer vigil and the funeral, we are thankful for donations of goods and services that may help to offset expenses related to these events. Ana is faced with many financial strains at this time given the nature of her child’s passing.

Many local restaurants and businesses have come forth with offers to help with food and services as a way of showing their love and support.  If you have a service or can provide goods or equipment that might be helpful in this regard, please contact Anne Bagasao at anne@wepartini.com.

A new GoFundMe campaign has been started to raise funds to provide Ana with financial assistance during this most trying time.

The following are fundraisers to raise funds for the family and for the Memorials in the Parks.

Greenbrooms Music Academy Introductory Lessons Benefiting Piqui’s Memorial Fund– Our friends at Greenbrooms Music Academy in South Pasadena will be donating 100% of all proceeds from their introductory lessons during the week of July 17-22 to Piqui’s Memorial Fund.

Greenbrooms’ owners, teachers and staff were so moved by this child’s passion for music that they felt they need to honor his memory.

If you or anyone you know, adults or children, have been curious about lessons, this is the perfect opportunity to contribute to Piqui’s memorial fund and to learn about the programs available at Greenbrooms. They offer instruction at every level.
