Also found reading to classrooms were high school vice principal, David Speck, City Councilmember Michael Cacciotti and School Board Members Michele Kipke and Julie Guilioni. Calling Read Across America one of her favorite days of the school year, Kipke added “this year I had a special treat and was invited by Marengo to read “I Am Peace” to my daughter’s 5th grade class. It doesn’t get much better than this!”

The event was organized by 5th grade teacher Rachael Rodriguez. There was a reader for every single classroom and it was a great success for both the students and the volunteer readers.
