Police Officer Injured in Collision | South Pasadena Police Department

According to a report from SPPD: A South Pasadena Police Department motorcycle officer was injured on Tuesday, April 4th, after a vehicle collided with the officer’s motorcycle in the 300 block of Monterey Road. Chief Brian Solinsky confirmed the incident and reported that the officer was hospitalized as a result of the collision.

According to reports, the officer was traveling on his motorcycle when a vehicle pulled out of an apartment complex driveway and into the officer’s path, causing a collision. The impact of the crash ejected the officer from his motorcycle and sent him into the opposing lanes of traffic. Witnesses reported that the driver of the vehicle did not see the officer approaching.

The officer, a 27-year veteran of the South Pasadena Police Department, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The road was closed for several hours while the accident was investigated.
