In a measure of goodwill and way to welcome new Laker LeBron James to Los Angeles, the Blaze Pizza outlet on Fair Oaks Avenue in South Pasadena significantly reduced the price of its pizza on Tuesday.

There was a party atmosphere outside the store as hundreds took advantage of the deep discount.

From its Southern California locations, Blaze employees were busy providing pizzas to patrons, some standing in line for hours, in celebration of LeBron’s move from the Cleveland Caveliers to Los Angeles to wear a Lakers’ uniform. James in a major investor in the pizza franchise.

Rumors were flying around the Culver City Blaze Pizza store that LeBron was going to make an appearance during the day, but he was a no show. Janet Raine was the first to arrive at 7:30 a.m. and waited for hours hoping to catch a glimpse of the NBA superstar.

Later in the day video surfaced of James vacationing with his family in Florida.
