They spent long hours committed to a cause, serving on one of 14 commissions in the City of South Pasadena before being honored for their service.
And that’s what South Pasadena Mayor Dr. Marina Khubesrian did last Wednesday night, recognizing 20 members of the community who dedicated themselves to a wide range of city commissions, from Parks and Rec and Public Safety, to Finance and more.
Khubesrian, who knows the value of each one, joined the City Council in paying tribute by presenting the outgoing commissioners a certificate of appreciation.
“All our outgoing commissioners that were recognized by the City Council have volunteered their time and energy to provide important services to the city and our residents,” said Khubesrian. “I very much appreciate their willingness to serve and help our city study and implement policy.”
Recognized were Cornelia Balogh, Animal Commission; Victor Holtz, Cultural Heritage Commission; Jim Fenske, Design Review Board; Conrado Lopez, Design Review Board; Edward Corey, Finance Commission; Frank Catania, Finance Commission; Carolyn Flemming, Library Board of Trustees; Luther Luedtke, Library Board of Trustees; Al Benzoni, Natural Resources & Environmental Commission; Kay Findley, NREC; Nancy Wilms, NREC; Madeleine Wong, NREC; Zahir Robb, Parks & Rec Commission; Ronald Rosen, Parks & Rec Commission; Vernon Rene Daley, Public Safety Commission; Robert Ettinger, Public Safety Commission; Greg Hall, Public Safety Commission; Luis Reinoso, Public Safety Commission; Matty Hurtado-Sokolow, Senior Citizen Commission and Jeffrey Burke, Finance Commission.
