In celebration of Memorial Day, “Operation Cookie” will once again bring warmth and appreciation to hospitalized, homeless, and special needs veterans across Southern California. The event takes place on Wednesday, May 21, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena, located at 1424 Fremont Avenue.

Community Rallies with Cookies and Compassion

Volunteers and cookie donors from all over the Greater Los Angeles area will gather early in the morning to drop off thousands of homemade cookies. Curbside cookie drop-off begins at 7:00 a.m., and the peak of activity will take place between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., when dozens of volunteers will work side-by-side on the “cookie assembly line” to package the treats for delivery.

Veterans Join the Effort

Adding to the significance of the event, several veterans—including a World War II veteran and multiple Vietnam veterans—will assist in the packaging process. Their participation makes the gesture even more meaningful and offers an opportunity for powerful storytelling and visual coverage just ahead of Memorial Day.
