At approximately 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, Southern California Edison reported to the South Pasadenan News that over 3700 homes and businesses were affected by a widespread power outage at the time.

The cause is still under investigation. SCE linemen are expected to complete repairs by 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, although that cannot be confirmed.

Some residents report they heard an explosion coming from a currently undetermined epicenter.

If your power is out please report it to SCE and of course, stay away from any downed power lines.

South Pasadena Fire Department and South Pasadena Police Department are aware and are currently out inspecting for transformer issues.
