Craig Koehler, who has an extensive background in municipal and public sector finance, was recently introduced to the South Pasadena City Council as the city’s new finance director.

“We’re thrilled to have him on board,” said City Manager Stephanie DeWolfe of Koehler, who has served as the interim director of finance for the City of Montebello and the director of financial services for the City of Redondo Beach.

Over the year’s Koehler has held similar positions with the City of El Monte, the Jurupa Community Services District, and the Southern California Public Power Authority.

“I’m privileged and honored to join the City of South Pasadena,” Koehler told the council. “I look forward to working with the council and staff.”

Koehler replaces David Watkins, who announced his retirement earlier this year.

In his new assignment, Koehler will oversee an annual municipal budget of $55 million and a staff of eight in South Pasadena’s finance department.
