National Theatre Live (NT Live) returns to Boston Court Pasadena this July 18–21 with encore screenings of some of the UK’s most celebrated stage productions, featuring award-winning actors and groundbreaking direction.
The program includes Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire starring Gillian Anderson, Vanessa Kirby, and Ben Foster; Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest with Sharon D. Clarke and Ncuti Gatwa; a bold new adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove featuring Steve Coogan; and the one-woman phenomenon Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag.

Visionary director Benedict Andrews helms this explosive 2014 production, filmed live at London’s Young Vic Theatre. As Blanche DuBois seeks refuge with her sister Stella, she collides with the brutal Stanley Kowalski, unraveling in a gripping, emotional descent.
NT Live: The Importance of Being Earnest
July 18 at 7 p.m.
Directed by Max Webster (Life of Pi), this joyous reimagining of Wilde’s timeless comedy stars Sharon D. Clarke and Ncuti Gatwa. Expect mistaken identities, romantic misadventures, and razor-sharp wit in a tale of double lives and double standards.
NT Live: Dr. Strangelove
July 19 at 2 p.m.
Starring Steve Coogan in four roles, this world-premiere adaptation of Kubrick’s dark satire was co-adapted by Armando Iannucci and directed by Sean Foley. A rogue U.S. General triggers nuclear chaos in a biting comedy brought to the stage for the first time.
NT Live: Fleabag
July 20 at 7 p.m.
Back by popular demand, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s award-winning one-woman show returns to cinemas for the final time. Directed by Vicky Jones and filmed during its sold-out 2019 West End run, Fleabag offers a hilarious, heartbreaking glimpse into modern womanhood.
