On Friday, July 25, 2025, at approximately 10:11 a.m., South Pasadena Police officers responded to a report of an attempted mail theft in the 1500 block of Huntington Drive.

Responding officers quickly located a vehicle leaving the area that matched the description provided by witnesses. A traffic stop was conducted, and officers contacted the vehicle’s four occupants: 37-year-old Marlos Merlos, 39-year-old Luis Lopez, 28-year-old Andrea Hurtado, and 27-year-old Gisselle Ibarra, all residents of Los Angeles.

A subsequent investigation led to the discovery of burglary tools, stolen property, and methamphetamine inside the vehicle. All four suspects were arrested for charges including attempted mail theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, and possession of methamphetamine.

A follow-up investigation is ongoing to identify additional victims and determine the full scope of the thefts.
