“We had a blast!” Mike Azat is speaking enthusiastically about his team’s participation in South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Gold Classic fundraiser for our city’s self-built float. “We are all from South Pasadena and our team consisted of myself, I’m not sure if you got our pic, but this was the SPTOR GOLF CLASSIC teams of Nathan Bennet, Aram Yashu, Issa Azat, Mike Azat, Joseph Hogan, and Arturo Sandoval with our sponsors. We came nowhere close to placing, but had a blast and very much appreciate Mr. Alan Vlacich on behalf of the SPTOR for putting on a great tournament and a great time. He deserves all the credit for a great event. Looking forward to next year.

“Our team was divided into two teams of three,” says Azat. “The tournament was on June 18th, and the tournament is an annual fundraiser held at the Arroyo Seco Golf Course by the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses.” The golf tournament is one of the largest annual fundraisers for the SPTOR to help raise the money necessary for the community to build the City’s Rose Parade float each year.
“We had a great time – all of our team members grew up in South Pasadena and loved the opportunity to come out and see some of our old SPHS classmates and members of the community that we don’t often get to see, play some golf, albeit not very well, and contribute to a very worthwhile cause.”
