Remembering South Pasadena officer who was killed in the line of duty during a training exercise at shooting park in Azusa

The South Pasadena Police Department will gather at Garfield Park on June 14 at 3:30 p.m. to memorialize the loss of Officer Kevin Sandoval.

Members of the Sandoval family will be joining police officials at the gathering. A tree has been planted in the park to remember Sandoval.

Officer Kevin Sandoval passed away 8 years ago on June 14, 2011, in the line of duty during a training exercise at Burro Canyon Shooting Park in Azusa.

A 3-year veteran of the department, fellow officers say Sandoval will always be remembered as dedicated, compassionate and loyal to friends and family with a passion for his chosen vocation, noting he was an outstanding officer will be greatly missed.
