The US Marine's are known for having the worst living conditions, the worst budget, the hardest training, and the lowest life expectancy than any other branch of the military, yet have the highest success rate, and are the world's most feared and trusted force.

On this notable day, we commemorate the 248th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, an institution steeped in valor, discipline, and unyielding commitment to the nation. Since its inception on November 10, 1775, the Marine Corps has stood as a symbol of excellence, embodying the highest standards of courage and dedication.

There are over 55,000 active duty Marines in California – which is about half of all active duty military from all branches. For example, Camp Pendleton occupies more than 125,704 acres of varied terrain, of which 96,027 acres support training, including 17.1 miles of shoreline and 180 square nautical miles of Special Use Airspace.

Throughout history, Marines have been at the forefront of defending freedom and democracy. From Iwo Jima to the challenging terrains of Afghanistan, they have demonstrated unparalleled bravery and skill. Their legacy is not just written in the annals of military victories but is also etched in the spirit of American resilience and perseverance.

The Marine Corps’ ethos of “Semper Fidelis” (Always Faithful) resonates beyond the battlefield. It reflects a deep-seated commitment to the Corps, their fellow Marines, and the nation they so ardently protect. This ethos is the cornerstone of the Marine’s moral compass, guiding them in their duties and responsibilities.

On this day, we not only celebrate the honor the sacrifices of those who served but also look towards the future. The Marine Corps continues to evolve, embracing new challenges and technologies while steadfastly maintaining its core values. As we celebrate this historic day, we recognize the unwavering spirit of the Marines, past, present, and future, who have dedicated their lives to serving our country with honor, courage, and commitment.

Happy Birthday, United States Marine Corps! Your legacy is a beacon of inspiration, and your service a cornerstone of our nation’s strength and freedom.
