Marengo Elementary School PTA in partnership with the City of South Pasadena and the South Pasadena Chinese-American Club are thrilled to invite you to this unique walk-thru experience on Sunday, March 6th between 11am-2pm celebrating the Lunar New Year at Orange Grove Park in South Pasadena.
Join us as community and culture join forces to ring in the year of the Tiger! Lion Dancers, Tigers, and more will frame a fun and educational walk through the Great Race trail – a trail lined with booths sponsored by South Pasadena community organizations, Marengo Mandarin Dual Immersion classrooms and other sponsors highlighting the significance of the twelve zodiac animals. In addition to treats and giveaways, there will be a food booth pick-up for families who pre-order. Among the choices are a dim sum sampler box, a mochi donut box, and a boba drink. REGISTRATION/TICKETS
Each participating guest is required to register for a 30‐minute time slot. Select the time slot you want at Registration.
Pre-registered guests will arrive during their 30-minute time slot. Pre-ordered passports will be handed out to children with a small bag to collect goodies along the Great Race trail. The passport will tell the story of The Great Race and have a place for children to collect stamps at each booth. The Great Race will end with a chance to slide to the finish line. We will limit up to 150 people into the park per 30 minutes, so please show up before your selected time to maximize your experience and depart the park at your designated exit time.
Purchase a pre-registered child (age 2-12) admission for $5.
There will be no charge for pre-registered adults.
For those who do not pre-register, it will be $7 per child (age 2-12) and $3 per adult at the gate on the day of the event. Day of entry admission is limited and not guaranteed due to capacity.
PRE-ORDER FOOD:
A dim sum sampler box and/or a mochi donut box provided by the Pacific Culinary Group and/or a boba drink from Teamorrow must be pre-ordered by FEBRUARY 20, 2022 and will be available for pick-up at the finish line.
