Lineage Performing Arts Center is proud to present a re-imagined Pippin – a fully staged musical taking place in Pasadena throughout the month of May. Along with the magic and mystery of the stage musical Pippin, the Lineage dancers and a talented cast of singers and actors bring new excitement to the show with fresh choreography, site specific surprises and inspiration for all.

Originally presented on Broadway with Director Bob Fosse, Pippin offers a wistful and timeless story of coming to terms with the significance of a single life in the midst of life’s trials and tribulations. Pippin’s journey and search for meaning highlight such beloved songs as Corner of the Sky and Morning Glow. The plot of Pippin turns on the mysterious “show within a show” that leaves audiences on the edge of their seat until the compelling finale. As Pippin’s search for purpose and direction develop he declares, “If I’m never tied to anything, I’ll never be free.”

The show is highly interactive, and as part of the fun, the audience will move from space to space, exploring the theatre, the courtyard and a beautiful jewel of a chapel for an authentic experience of site-specific theatre.

The nonprofit Lineage Dance, and the Lineage Performing Arts Center are dedicated to making the arts accessible to all – both as performers and audience members. As part of the Pippin performances, Lineage is honored to include members of our “Dance for Joy” classes for persons with neurological challenges, and a choir of outstanding voices of all ages. Under the musical direction of Alan Geier, and co-directed by Hilary Thomas and Rob Lewis, the production is pure magic.
