Broadway and television star Jonathan Groff, who many know from his roles on Glee and HBO’s Looking, stars in Sondheim on Sondheim at the Hollywood Bowl. Since Groff’s award-winning breakout out performance in Broadway’s Spring Awakening in 2006, he has only become more and more popular and recognizable from the singing badboy, Jesse St. James in Glee to voicing Kristoff in Frozen. He also appeared in American Sniper alongside Bradley Cooper and originated the hysterical role of King George III in the musical Hamilton.

Groff will be sharing the stage with Sarah Uriarte Berry, Phillip Boykin, Lewis Cleale, Carmen Cusak, Claybourne Elder, Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family’s Mitch), Ruthie Ann Miles, Matthew Morrison (Glee’s Mr. Schue), Solea Pfeiffer, and Vanessa Williams.

They will be accompanied by the Los Angeles Philharmonic with Gustavo Dudamel conducting. They will have one performance only, on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 7:30pm. The Hollywood Bowl production benefits the LA Phil’s flagship program, Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA), and other LA Phil educational initiatives.

Directed by Sarna Lapine and Choreographed by Michele Lynch, the LA Phil will be joined by YOLA to perform “Children Will Listen”.
