The NWS warns of dangerously hot conditions with temperatures reaching up to 107 degrees. These elevated temperatures pose a significant risk of heat-related illnesses, especially for outdoor activities.

Residents are advised to closely monitor the latest forecasts and warnings, ensure adequate hydration, seek air-conditioned environments, limit sun exposure, and routinely check on relatives and neighbors.

The NWS emphasizes that children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles, as car interiors can rapidly reach lethal temperatures during warm or hot weather.

As the heatwave intensifies, South Pasadena residents have several cooling centers available to them. These include the South Pasadena Public Library and the South Pasadena Senior Center, providing much-needed relief from the excessive heat. One or both are available to the public when the heat reaches 96 degrees and above.

The public is urged to act on this information responsibly and take all necessary precautions to mitigate the impacts of this heat event. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
