Hot Days for Street Workers

It’s cooler this week, but it may not seem like it to those resurfacing El Centro Street in the city

Work on El Centro Street has resumed this week after the project was delayed due to the recent high temperatures.

Cal-Osha issued a heat advisory on the week of July 9 forcing  the El Centro Street Roadwork Project to be delayed until July 16-20.

Residents, local business owners and farmers market vendors, notified of the change in schedule as a result of door hangers, a police department traffic control message board, the media and the local Chamber of Commerce providing information to local businesses.

The roadway will be completely repaved and striped upon completion.

During construction, traffic controls, no parking signs, and detour signs will be in place to help motorists navigate through the construction area.

City officials warn that traffic delays may be caused due to the construction.
