Movie trucks dominated the parking lot at South Pasadena Middle School on Fair Oaks Avenue Wednesday as some curious motorists slowly passed wondering what was taking place.

The activity was part of a new television show series being taped on La France Avenue in the city. The local middle school was used to house about a half dozen trucks, including some for catering and wardrobe, used in the production.

Joan Aguado, the city’s film liaison, said the lot at the middle school was being used as crews were taping a new TV show, “Winslow,” on LaFrance Avenue. According to the IMDb website, the show centers on Jimmy Winslow, a private detective who is a recovering alcoholic with debt, an imprisoned father and an ex-girlfriend he is trying to win back.

The South Pasadena Unified School District often rents out its parking area to movie and commercial production companies. In the past the district has raised roughly $100,000 to $150,000 from the rental of its property.
