Green Brooms Music Academy students performed a festive, winter music concert held on the stage at the South Pasadena Masonic Lodge. About 85 students performed in five programs which saw solo vocal and instrumental performances as well as duets and trios with their teachers and other students. One of the show-stoppers saw a banjo student who built a robot that was programmed to play a paper-constructed banjo alongside him!

The concert was a rousing success and Green Brooms owner, Manuel Lozano, tells us, “we were excited to produce our 5th year of Winter Concerts here in South Pasadena. Nura Creitz, our recital director, always does a wonderful job of planning a diverse set of concerts.”

Lozano went on to say, “this year we had some unique beginner performances as well as more elaborate collaborations between students and faculty. We are very proud to be a part of this community and grateful to have the opportunity to provide a space for students and families to come together to appreciate musicianship.”

Lozano says the goals for 2018 are to open up the school for more cultural events and to find more opportunities within the community for their students to gain experience performing in a live setting.
