It’s that time of year again!

Girl Scouts across South Pasadena are getting ready for the big cookie season! The cookie sales begin on January 26 and end on March 8. This year there are about fifty troops in town that will be participating in selling cookies at local stores and at the Farmer’s Market.

There’s a new cookie on the block! This year Girl Scouts bring to South Pasadena “Lemon-Ups”- a lemon shortbread cookie with lemon glaze and a positive message on the back. A box of these wonderful “Lemon-Ups” will cost five dollars and will be sold at every booth. Sadly, Savannah Smiles (the other lemon cookie), have been discontinued.

The 2020 cookie selection includes Samoas, Tagalongs, Dosidos, Trefoils, Thin Mints, S’mores, Toffee-tastic (gluten-free) , and Lemon-Ups. The cost of the cookies are all five dollars per box, with the exception of Toffee-tastic and S’ mores that each cost six dollars. The cookies will be sold at every booth around town.

This year our booth locations are Ace Hardware (new site this year), Vons, Pavilions, Ralphs, The Urban Pet, and the South Pasadena Farmers’ Market.

Booths will run from February 7 to March 8 and will generally be open every day from 3-6 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 6 pm on weekends. The one exception is the Farmers’ Market that will be open Thursdays from 4-7 pm. People can confirm booth times and locations all over LA by visiting the Find Cookies page.

Even if you have already bought cookies, please donate $5 for a gift of caring box. Gift of caring is a way that people can buy cookies and give it to someone else who would really appreciate it. All the gift of caring boxes will be sent to the LA Regional Food Bank, Goodwill of Southern California, or to soldiers in the military.

There is more to Girl Scouts cookies than what you see. There is a greater purpose to it – all the cookies you buy will support the Girl Scouts in helping the world become a better place. To sum it up, “Every cookie has a mission – to help girls do great things.”
