A routine early-morning traffic stop in South Pasadena led to the arrest of a suspect in possession of a loaded, unserialized firearm, commonly known as a ghost gun.
Traffic Stop Leads to Warrant Discovery
At approximately 3:16 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, a South Pasadena Police Officer pulled over a vehicle in the 1100 block of Columbia Avenue. The driver informed the officer that he had an outstanding warrant.
A records check confirmed an active warrant for trespassing issued by the Arcadia Police Department.
Loaded Ghost Gun Found in Vehicle Trunk
Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a loaded semi-automatic handgun with no serial number in the trunk. The firearm was classified as a ghost gun, meaning it cannot be traced by law enforcement due to its lack of identifying marks.
Suspect Identified and Arrested
The driver was identified as 34-year-old Deshone Derryll Busby of Los Angeles. He was taken into custody and booked at Pasadena City Jail. Busby faces the following charges:
