At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2026, the City of South Pasadena Fire Department, with assistance from Pasadena and Alhambra Fire Departments, responded to a reported residential structure fire at the 600 block of Forest Avenue in the City of South Pasadena.
Units on scene encountered heavy smoke coming from the subfloor vents of a single-story residential structure. Crews made access to the space below the house through a cellar door and extinguished the fire quickly, preventing the fire from reaching the main house. Crews were on scene for approximately two hours checking for any extension and investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
All occupants were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.
