The Geffen Playhouse proudly presents the world premiere of The Reservoir, a deeply personal and riotously funny new play written by Jake Brasch and directed by Shelley Butler. Co-produced with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Alliance Theatre, the production runs now through July 20 at the Gil Cates Theater.
Spiraling Lives, Grandparental Chaos, and Jazzercise
At the center of The Reservoir is Josh, whose life is unraveling. But luckily—or maybe not—his grandparents are here to help. From tough-love matriarch Bev to the wildly inappropriate and endlessly quotable Shrimpy, Josh’s family offers unsolicited advice, existential monologues over coffee, and Jazzercise therapy at the JCC.
Featuring a standout ensemble cast—Adrián González, Marin Hinkle, Jake Horowitz, Liz Larsen, Carolyn Mignini, Geoffrey Wade, and Lee Wilkof—the production blends heartfelt storytelling with biting humor.
