What was initially reported to be a structure fire on the 1000 northern block of Mission St. at approximately 11:05 a.m., Tuesday in South Pasadena turned out to be a “small clothing fire” in the back parking lot of a local business.
Engine 31 from Old Town Pasadena was the first to respond to the scene along with several accompanying units from the South Pasadena Police Department. South Pasadena Fire Department Engine 81 arrived several minutes later to assist with detritus removal.
Officers and firefighters surveyed the front, southern facade of the building for any signs of damage as well.
No injuries were initially reported at the scene nor any visible damage done to the structure.
The fire’s cause is still under investigation as first responders on the scene were not able to give concrete details at the time of this report.
The owners of the building did not appear to be present at the time but were said to have been contacted.
Arson was apparently not cited as a cause for the fire at this time.
