Living a healthy lifestyle was on the minds of many who took part in last week’s South Pasadena Farmers’ Market Health and Wellness Family Festival.
Local health care providers and organizations were on hand to help get the message across about eating correctly and the importance of exercise.
For others not directly involved in the festival, it was a time to stroll up-and-down the market area, seeking out fruits and vegetables or finding that perfect meal item to enjoy dinner in the grass area next to the Meridian Iron Works, the site of South Pasadena’s museum.

The South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce presented the free event as part of the organization’s effort to making community connections and creating a strong local economy.
During the summer months the South Pasadena Farmers’ Market is open every Thursday, from 4 – 8 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. other parts of the year.
The market, featuring fresh produce and prepared foods, can be found on Meridian Ave. and El Centro Street, south of Mission Street.
