Felony Theft Suspect Arrested in South Pasadena After ALPR Alert

On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at approximately 1:20 p.m., South Pasadena Police officers arrested a felony theft suspect following an alert from the department’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system.

Vehicle Linked to Felony Theft Triggers ALPR System

The alert was triggered by a 2012 Nissan Altima previously identified as being involved in a felony theft in South Pasadena. The driver was known to have prior firearms-related convictions, heightening the urgency of the response.

Suspect Identified and Arrested Without Incident

Officers located the vehicle near the intersection of Oak Street and Ramona Avenue. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Alejandro Vallejo of Los Angeles, was positively identified as the suspect in the theft case. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Pasadena City Jail for booking.
