It was a very big night for Days of Our Lives at the Daytime Emmys held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium Sunday April 29. The show won the big prize of Best Drama Series as well as picking up writing and directing Emmys along with Best Supporting Actor for Greg Vaughan and Best Lead Actor for James Reynolds.
Reynolds is the first Best Lead Actor nod for the series since Macdonald Carey won in 1975 and he becomes only the fourth actor of color to win the prize in Daytime Emmy history.

Spirits were high after the show with Reynolds expressing how much sweeter the night was because he could share it, “sharing this with Greg and the writers and directors, what could be better than that?”

He gave high praise and thanks to producer Ken Corday when he said, “my heart beats with a love for you; your faith, your loyalty, your friendship, and your courage.”
After 37 years playing Abe Carver Reynolds said, “it’s been a long road and I’ve met a lot of people along the way”, and later saying, “to be able to thank them publicly was very meaningful and important to me.”
