The City Council will consider approving a temporary water treatment system that is expected to resolve the discoloration experienced by some South Pasadena residents, among other issues on the June 20 agenda.
The action would authorize construction of a $372,000 temporary system at the Wilson Reservoir that could begin treating the City’s groundwater supply as soon as August. It is one of several steps being taken to address the water discoloration, including additional chlorination and the installation of a permanent treatment system by January.
The Council will also consider potential actions on a City-commissioned homeless plan. When the plan was presented earlier this month, some Council members voiced concerns that the plan was inadequate and not specific enough to South Pasadena. City staff has been working with its consultant to address these concerns in a revised plan.
In addition, the Council may adopt the City’s 2018-19 Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan complements the recently adopted municipal budget and five-year Capital Improvement Plan as guiding documents for the coming fiscal year.
