Let the good times roll!
The City of South Pasadena will host the first of five free summer Concerts in the Park at Garfield Park starting Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16.
Concerts are scheduled every other Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Garfield Park, providing a safe atmosphere where families and friends in the community can come together, socialize and enjoy an evening of music.
Escape a tribute band, recapturing the thrill generations of Journey fans remember, will open the series with a Father’s Day special. Like the real performing band itself, Escape comes to South Pasadena with five top musicians. The group has performed live in nearly every state in the nation.
“Don’t Stop Believin’,’ is their anthem that turns up the heat and touches the crowd everywhere they, well, journey.
The band was formed in 1996 by professional musician Stu Simone and was the first Journey tribute band based in Los Angeles.
Food will be available for purchase or you can bring your own picnic.
Officials say the city relies 100 percent on sponsorships in order to hold the series.
There are many different levels of sponsorships ranging from $50 to $3,000.
