Join us at the South Pasadena Public Library for a summer full of reading and discovery!
The Summer Reading Program runs from June 2nd to August 2nd, and there’s something for everyone—kids, teens, and adults!
Register starting June 2nd at the library, and get a free book just for signing up—adults and kids alike! Track your reading all summer long using a paper reading log, available at the library. Stop by once a week to show your progress and receive a prize or an opportunity drawing ticket for a chance to win prizes.

Wonderful Wednesdays
Get ready for a summer of fun with Wonderful Wednesdays—a special series of exciting family-friendly performances at the South Pasadena Public Library! Happening on Wednesdays in June and July, these free events are perfect for family entertainment and learning. Each program starts at 6:00 PM and will take place outside on the Oxley street side of Library Park.
Kick off Wonderful Wednesdays on June 11th with free Kona Ice, generously provided by the Friends of the Library! Join us for a cool treat and a great time as we launch a season of engaging performances.

- June 18th – Dave Skale’s Wacky Amazing Magic Show
- June 25th – Mad Science LA: Fire and Ice Science Show

My Gym at the Library!

Join us for a high-energy My Gym Pasadena event on Friday, June 27th, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM in the South Pasadena Library Community Room (1115 El Centro St). Kids ages 1–10 years old will enjoy singing, dancing, and a reading of A Magical My Gym Day, all designed to spark imagination and build confidence. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required.

June Walk ‘N’ Talk Club
Date: Wednesday, June 11th
Time: 9:00 AM
Location: South Pasadena Public Library – Meet outside on Oxley Street Side of the Library Park
This monthly event combines reading with outdoor activity, promoting a social approach to literature. The club meets on the second Wednesday at 9:00 AM for a community stroll, allowing adults to discuss the chosen book and enjoy the company of fellow readers in an outdoor setting. Each month features a selected book for discussion, and participants are encouraged to come prepared. The June book discussion will feature Honor by Thrity Umrigar.

All Abilities Club
Date: Second Friday of the Month (Friday, June 13th)
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Join the South Pasadena Public Library for our monthly program geared toward adults with developmental disabilities. During All Abilities Club meetings, we watch movies, make crafts, and encourage a welcoming and safe environment for participants. The Club is open to adult members of the public and adult family members, aides, caretakers, and teachers are welcome. The Club is intended for adult audiences. Registration is not required.

Storytime
Public library storytime is a fun-filled experience that promotes early literacy skills, engages young children in age-appropriate cognitive and physical developmental activities, and provides an opportunity to learn and practice social skills — like listening, following directions, and learning by observing others — that will take them through their school years and beyond.

English Language Conversation Group
DATE: Tuesdays, June 3, 10, 17, 24 & Wednesdays, June 4, 11, 18, 25.
TIME: Tuesdays at 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Wednesdays at 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
LOCATION: Ray Bradbury Conference Room, upstairs at the Library
The South Pasadena Public Library’s Conversational English group has an evening group on Tuesday nights and a Wednesday morning group. Facilitated by highly qualified teachers, the groups will be held upstairs in the Ray Bradbury Conference Room at the Library. There is no charge for English as a Second Language (E.S.L.) adult learners to attend this class and no advance registration is required. Various E.S.L. materials are available to be checked out from the Library collection.
