Council approves reallocation of funds left over for the program

PRESS RELEASE

On April 7, 2021, the South Pasadena City Council unanimously approved using remaining funds from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to fully sponsor the Senior Services Division Nutrition Program.

The State of California allocated funding to the City of South Pasadena Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) for an Emergency Rental Assistance Program. Unused funds from the Rental Assistance program have since been reallocated to the Senior Center Nutrition Program.

For April, May, and June 2021, all Nutrition Program participants will receive meals at no cost. Starting July 1, 2021, all Nutrition Program participants will be billed again according to the number of meals received at $3.00 per meal.
