On April 7, 2021, the South Pasadena City Council unanimously approved using remaining funds from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to fully sponsor the Senior Services Division Nutrition Program.

The State of California allocated funding to the City of South Pasadena Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) for an Emergency Rental Assistance Program. Unused funds from the Rental Assistance program have since been reallocated to the Senior Center Nutrition Program.
