
City of South Pasadena hosted a open house that encompassed all city departments and affiliated organizations. In addition to opening the city hall, police department and fire department for tours and orientations for visitors, the main business district on Mission street was blocked to vehicle traffic so that information tents, kiddie attractions and food areas could be set up.

A variety of city departments demonstrated to visitors their capabilities in the city. Elected City of South Pasadena officials and key city employees were on hand to meet and greet residents.

Among the more popular attractions were the fire department which gave kids a chance to climb aboard fire engines and the police department exhibit where motor officer Jeff Holland boosted youngsters aboard his police motorcycle to experience what its like to be a motor cop.

Additionally demonstrations were held and merchandise was given away at the various booths. Several thousand people attended the event throughout the day.
