Bob Hope Patriotic Hall has been officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Los Angeles County Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) announced. The designation honors the building’s architectural significance and nearly 100 years of dedicated service to veterans and military families.

A Legacy of Service Since 1925

Built in 1925 and renamed in 2004 after beloved entertainer and military advocate Bob Hope, Patriotic Hall has long served as a community anchor for veterans in downtown Los Angeles. Known for its Romanesque Revival design and deep cultural roots, the building hosts ceremonies, services, and support programs for veterans and their families.

A Symbol of Hope and Support

National Recognition and Preservation

Administered by the National Park Service, the National Register of Historic Places provides recognition and protection for America’s most treasured sites. The listing ensures that Patriotic Hall will be preserved for future generations and makes it eligible for federal preservation support and incentives.

Continued Commitment to Veterans

Jim Zenner, Director of the LA County DMVA, reaffirmed the department’s mission: “We are proud to continue Bob Hope Patriotic Hall’s 100-year legacy of supporting the military, veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors. Our commitment will never waver.”

Centennial Celebration Planned

To commemorate this historic milestone, the DMVA will host a centennial celebration and recognition ceremony later this year. Event details will be shared as plans develop.
