Rapidly growing Blaze Pizza, using high-tech advances to produce quality pizza at lightning speed, is scheduled to open its newest location in South Pasadena.
“Soon 7 days until open,” reads a message on the door of the establishment ready to debut at 1100 Fair Oaks Ave.

On Friday, a work crew appeared to be putting on the finishing touches to the entrance area of the store, but the doors to the business were locked.
In five years, the pizza chain has grown to 200 locations across North America. According to Nation’s Restaurant News, sales exceeded $185 million in 2016.
Elise and Rick Wetzel of Wetzel’s Pretzels fame opened Blaze Pizza, a fast-casual dining restaurant, in 2011 with a quick made-to-order approach.
The company bills itself as: “Healthful, artisanal ingredients on the assembly line. Inventive to classic. You decide. Blazing hot oven + dedicated pizzasmith + 180 seconds = fast-fire’d, perfectly crisp perfection.”
In other words, the pizza comes off the assembly line super fast.
In May, Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza promoted Jim Mizes to president and CEO. He has been with the company since 2012.

“Jim is uniquely suited to take over the CEO role at our organization,” Wetzel said in Restaurant Nation’s News. “He combines a background in finance and restaurant operations with decades of experience helping startup brands at systems and process so they can scale smoothly and quickly. He is truly the entrepreneur’s best friend.”
Cleveland Cavaliers star basketball player Lebron James is one of Blaze Pizza’s franchisees and an original investor in the firm in 2012.

Along with its new store in South Pasadena, Blaze Pizza can be found locally in Alhambra, La Canada, STAPLES Center, Monrovia, Glendale, South Gate, Universal City, Los Angeles and at two locations in Pasadena.
Just what we need, ANOTHER pizza restaurant.
Nice to see more restaurants on the south side of town. We’ll be able to walk to dinner with the family. Looking forward to this new location!
