Tigers climb out to a 22-4 lead after first quarter and roll to 36-point win.

South Pasadena High’s girls basketball team jumped out to a 22-4 lead after the first quarter and held a commanding 41-18 advantage at the half as it rolled to an easy 77-41 win over host Monrovia Friday night in Rio Hondo League action.

With the victory, South Pasadena improved to 4-2, in Rio Hondo League play (10-14 overall) while the Wildcats are 1-5, 2-18 on the season.

Looking for a CIF playoff spot, the Tigers have four games left in the regular season, going on the road to face San Marino on Jan. 31, hosting La Canada and Temple City on Feb. 2 and Feb. 6, respectively, before finishing up Feb. 8 at Blair.
