This past weekend, two soccer teams from our local AYSO EXTRA program (Region 214 – South Pasadena/San Marino) represented the West division in Section 1’s “West v. East” finals in Redlands, CA. Both the U-14 boys’ team (2008) and the U-12 girls’ team (2010) won their games in convincing fashion, 6-1 and 5-0 respectively.

These victories mean that each team will be representing Section 1 for their respective division, as they move onto the Western State Championships in Morgan Hill, CA, being held on March 12th and March 13th.

When asked about their accomplishments, Region 214’s EXTRA coordinator Jeremy Gonzalez had to say, “Our ability to compete and succeed at a high level and provide an environment that focuses on player development while building a strong sense of community is something I’m very proud of. Successes like these will only help to strengthen our program over the years. I’m really happy for these kids and their families.”

Good luck Tigers, and bring home the silverware!
