South Pasadena Educational Foundation and Upstage Theatre Schools present the South Pasadena Unified School District production of Annie, Jr., coming at you at the high school February 9th through the 11th.
Over the years, the 5th grade musical has become a rite of passage for students at all three South Pasadena elementary schools and something the whole community looks forward to. It is a unique opportunity for the 5th graders to collaborate with students across all three campuses and form relationships that will see them through to their transition to middle school.

For the past few months, the 5th graders have been learning their lines and practicing choreography in anticipation of the big performance weekend. Surely every South Pasadenan has seen the festive Annie Jr. posters papering the windows of local businesses all over town and if so, well now is the time to get those tickets! They are on sale now at the SPEF office, at all three elementary schools or from the SPHS Auditorium Box Office on the performance weekend.
Parent Rob Clyde says “one can’t help see the amazing metaphor that Annie can be for a 5th grader ready to embark on a brand new life in middle school. Just don’t tell them which life is the “Hardknocks” one!”

The annual Fifth Grade Musical production is a South Pasadena tradition that brings together students in collaboration on one big, entertaining event.
This year’s production of Annie, Jr. will follow in the tradition of showcasing the many key elements of collaboration between SPEF and the SPUSD, including afterschool enrichment, hometown volunteerism, and a commitment to the arts.
